Centrum dopravního výzkumu se prostřednictvím Oblasti autonomního řízení zabývá výzkumem dopadů a vlivů automatizovaných a autonomních vozidel a s nimi souvisejících témat jako je umělá inteligence a počítačové vidění na bezpečnost silničního provozu. Výzkum se zaměřuje jak na technické aspekty těchto technologií, tj. jakým způsobem dané řešení funguje, a tedy jaké důsledky jeho používání mohou nastat, tak na lidský faktor, tj. jakým způsobem s danou technologií interaguje člověk, a tedy jaká rizika z této interakce mohou plynout. Poznatky získané výzkumem mimo jiné nalézají uplatnění ve státní sféře.

The Transport Research Centre through its Autonomous Driving Department explores impacts of automated and autonomous vehicles and related topics such as artificial intelligence and computer vision on road safety. The research focuses both on the technical aspects of these technologies, i.e. how the given solution works, and therefore what consequences of its use may occur, and on the human factor, i.e. how a person interacts with the given technology, and therefore what risks may arise from this interaction. Knowledge gained through our research is often applied within the government.
